Note: As of February 1, 2018, the 6F (full) licence cannot be sat until 9 months have passed since obtaining your 6R (restricted) licence.

Frequently Asked Questions

When Can the Assessment Be Taken?
If you hold a Restricted Licence, you can sit your 6F after a minimum of 9 months. However, you will not be able to exchange the certificate for a full licence until 12 months have passed.

Do I Need My Own Bike?

Yes. Bikes can be hired at an extra cost of $40. You can use your own if you prefer (must be LAMS approved).

What Does the Full Licence Assessment Involve?
The assessment ensures you are competent in various riding skills. It is conducted with an assessor following you on a motorcycle, using top-of-the-range 2-way Bluetooth Intercom systems for safety. Your riding skills will be assessed throughout the ride.
How Long Does the Full Licence Assessment Take?
The full licence stage assessment takes between 25-30 minutes of riding time, covering higher-speed zones. Allow up to 1 hour to complete your 6F, including the briefing and paperwork.
Do I Need Training Prior to Sitting the Assessment?
Training isn’t compulsory, but it is highly recommended to prepare thoroughly before attempting the assessment ride.
Do I Need My Own Helmet and Gloves?
Yes, you need to have your own helmet and gloves for the restricted and full licence assessments.
